Crank Shaft
A crankshaft is a device that converts the up/down movement of piston from engine explosion to rotational movement to drive the propeller shaft. Large crankshafts manufactured by Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction consist of a crank throw, main journal, flange journal and thrust shaft that are separately manufactured and integrated into a single body using the Shrink Fitting Method for final assembly. The company manufactures the forged products for large and low speed engines.

Marine Shaft
Marine shafts are categorized into propeller shafts and intermediate shafts, with variations in the quantity and type of shaft depending on the size of the ship. A propeller shaft is assembled with propellers, and intermediate shafts may be assembled together with a crankshaft so that rotational movement can be delivered to the propeller shaft to drive the propellers.

Stern Forge Product
Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction boasts the largest production capacity of stern forge products, and has a history of manufacturing integrated-type stern forge products weighing up to 210 tons. The rudder horn and stern boss, or stern frame cooling, are key parts of a ship’s steering and propulsion system, and are installed at the stern, so they are generally categorized as stern forge products.
A rudder horn is used to fix and support a rudder, part of steering apparatus of a ship. The rudder horn is directly connected to the rudder stock and pintle, forging products of Doosan. A stern boss supports the propeller and propeller shaft of a ship, enabling it to move.
